Our source for teak logs is mostly supplied by PERHUTANI, the government’s company which has the high-quality teak logs. We have the good cooperation with PERHUTANI so that we can supply the woods well concerning to the requirements of the orders. Our factory acquires the first grade (A) of teak wood, but we also provide the lower grade such as third grade (C), depend on the buyer’s order.

Our power supply uses the government’s electricity, but we also use the generator as the back up. We have our own mill located in the area of factory which has 3 units of machine with 30 m³ volume/day. In drying the lumber, we use the kilns with boiler heating situated near the mill. Four working kilns with 80 m³ volume are available.

How do we control the quality?

First, we choose and pick up the good quality of teak logs from PERHUTANI by length of 1-3 meters.
Second, we bring the teak logs into our lumber mill and sever it into the planks.
Third, we cut the planks into the components and then we choose the good one to be dried in the kiln dry machines about 10 days.
The dried components then processed by machines. Afterwards, the processed components then assembled into the furniture products.
Next, the products are checked and inspected due to the construction. The qualified products then go into the sanding process.
Finally, the products are wrapped or packaged well.
Our sub components are interchangeable. Hence, it’s able to fit the arm/leg side bench made with the bench made without any alteration.

The standard thickness of the slats is:

• Chair backs : 1 - 1,5 cm
• Chair seats : 1,5 – 2 cm
• Lounger seats : 1,5 – 2 cm
• Table tops : 1,5 – 2 cm
• Bench backs : 1,5 – 2 cm
• Bench seats : 1.5 – 2 cm

We calculate the standard tenon length and mortise depth according to the thickness of wood and also the construction of each product. So, the mortise and tenon of each product may be different. Our common length of tenon is 1,5 – 2,5 cm. For the depth of mortise, we add 2-3 mm of the tenon length. For an instance, if the tenon length is 2 cm, the mortise depth can be 2,2 cm.

The mark of glue we use is Garden Furniture Epoxy Classic. It’s blending the resin and the hardener type that dries in 4 hours. The reason we choose this glue is due to its strength.

We check the moisture content after the components have been dried in the kiln about 10 days and inspecting it randomly. The range of teak dryness is 10 – 15. The MC tool we use is Merlin made in Austria model HM8 – W513 by putting it on the wood.

Pricing Strategy.
We verify the item’s price by calculate the wood volume, wood grade, production cost and accessories of each item. For the item that is quoted, we can provide the required detail drawing information.

Packaging Requirements.
Our packaging would allow for each piece to be safely shipped. For the knocked down criteria, we can provide it as buyer’s request.

The total monthly production capacity of CV. MANDIRI ABADI is 8 - 10 containers per month. The minimum lead time for production is two month after the purchase order. The busiest months are during October – April. The slowest months are during May – September. Our 80% of Annual production is represented by three major customers.
